Bose Folashade John, a 32-year-old mother of four, was arrested by the kidnap and cybercrime unit for allegedly faking her kidnap in connivance with her husband and collecting a sum of almost N1.5 million from Bose’s employer.

The Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, Edo State, stated that Bose Folashade John, together with her husband Emmanuel, planned at large and faked her kidnap to collect a ransom of N1,470,000 from the complainant, her supposed employer. The suspect made a statement and confessed to the crime.

However, Bose Folashade, who confessed to the crime, pleaded with the police and the media for her face not to appear on social media.

“I don’t want to be on social media as my children’s careers would spoil. I’ve already spoilt myself, and I don’t want to tarnish the image of my husband and children. They should just kill me.” -she said.

The Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said that the suspect has been charged in court for further investigation.
