NDAN YAA NAA YAKUBU ANDANI WITH HIS SON AND GRANDSONS
In 1974, the Bawku Traditional Council led by the late Paramount Chief of the Bawku traditional area HRM Bawku-Naaba Tampuri Adam Zangbeo paid a courtesy call on the late Overlord of Dagbon Ndan Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani at the Gbewaa palace in Yendi.
Bawku-Naaba Tampuri Adam Zangbeo was enskined by the King of the Mamprugu kingdom HRM Naa Bongu Adam Badimsuguru (the 30th Nayiri) in the year 1967 as the 14 Bawku-Naaba. The Nayiri, Yaa Naa and Bimbila Naa are all son of Naa Gbewaa so therefore any Chief enskined by the Nayiri is a son to the Yaa Naa and vice versa.
Bawku-Naaba Tampuri Adam Zangbeo and Ndan Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani were very good friends aside the father son relationship.
In 1974 after the enskinment of Ndan Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani as the Overlord of Dagbon, the Bawku-Naaba together with his subchiefs in the Bawku traditional area paid a visit to Ndan Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani at his palace in Yendi.
Mamprugu and Dagbon are brotherly kingdoms and the brotherhood have been shared for centuries and continue to exist. Some people always come under our post to comment ignorantly whenever we post something about Mamprugu and Dagbon. Sometimes we do pardon them because they lack knowledge over what binds the two kingdoms together.
