As of my knowledge cutoff date of September 2021, Ghanaian banks did not yet receive Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies as a form of deposit. The Bank of Ghana has not yet fully embraced the use of cryptocurrencies, and cryptocurrencies are not recognized as legal tender in Ghana. However, as I mentioned earlier, there is still a growing interest in cryptocurrencies in Ghana, and some individuals and businesses have begun to accept them as a form of payment.
It is possible that in the future, as the use of cryptocurrencies becomes more mainstream and accepted globally, Ghanaian banks may begin to offer services related to cryptocurrencies. However, it is important to note that the regulatory environment in Ghana for cryptocurrencies is still evolving, and it is not clear how the government and regulators will ultimately choose to treat cryptocurrencies in the future.
